Primitive Amazon Vertical Flute Sinew Whistle Hand Made Wind Instrument OLD.
This vertical Amazon flute is 29 inches long and 1.5 inches wide at its widest point
This flute was split along its length to allow the inside to be carved as well as to add the wooden mouth piece seen in photos the flute was then rejoined with animal tissues including 8 wraps of sinew-tendons
And two wraps of intestines 1 of the 8 sinew-tendon is under the intestines nearest the bottom end also to be noted that one of the sinew-tendon wraps has broken off and been lost at some point over the years and can be identified but a lighter colored segment in the wood also to be noted the wood on one side of the flute is significantly darker then the other
This item has six key holes and still plays beautifully it has a very rich and healthy sound! The discoloration to the wood and other materials due to oils from hands playing over a period of years would suggest that this item has some real age to it while the actual age of this item is a mystery it could be as young as several decades or as old a few hundred years
